She then started working as a Correction Counselor with the NYC Department Corrections for few years, working with female inmates who had substance abuse problem and adolescence as well. In 1998, she worked as with the Administration for Children Services while she was pursuing her Master's Degree degree from Hunter College School of Social Work where she graduated in 2001 with her MSW.

For 19 years she worked as a Discharge Planner in the hospital while attending Metropolitan Institute for Mental Health to study in the Adult Psychoanalytic Division, in 2012, Darlene decided to switch gears and began working as Behavorial Health  Care Manager , while starting her own private practice in the mist of the pandemic. She attended Oswego State and completed her undergraduate degree as an older, non-traditional student. She then pursued graduate school at SUNY Oswego, which she completed in 2016. During this time, Jessica has gained a great deal of experience with clients from various backgrounds who are faced with numerous life challenges. This includes anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and those in need of anger management. Jessica has also worked with those faced with substance abuse related problems, life transitions, career counseling, and parenting education. During her studies, she attended an internship at Boston Road Medical Center, Psychiatry Department in Bronx, New York. She uses an eclectic approach in therapy with a foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness therapy, and supportive psychotherapy. She develops an individualized treatment plan for all patients to focus on their goals. Mekayla Davila is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has been in practice for 6 years. She has experience working with many diverse populations and mental health conditions. Huong "Claire" Phan is a licensed mental health counselor at the New York State Education Department Office of the Professions and a licensed professional counselor at the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. Claire completed her Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. Claire has been practicing for 5 years as a licensed therapist providing counseling for mood disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, prolonged grief disorder, adjustment disorders, women's issues, and also helping clients navigate relationship difficulties and other challenges. Claire completed her clinical internship and worked as a therapist at the Institute for Human Identity, one of the first psychotherapy centers in New York to provide LGBTQ+ affirmative psychotherapy. Claire is passionate about serving the LGBTQ+ community and providing a safe space for her clients regardless of differences in gender identity, expression, sexual orientation, race, and culture. Ethan Bardell holds the position of Psychotherapist at Talkiatry. He completed both his undergraduate and graduate training at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Ethan obtained his BS in Rehabilitative Sciences and Human Services with a concentration in developmental disabilities. Ethan then completed his MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Ethan has a strong background in community mental health work, where he has worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups using a client-centered approach that is both gentle and supportive. In sessions, Ethan works to create a welcoming space where individuals can both process and make sense of their unique experiences, while using a combination of modalities to best fit the needs of each individual. Ethan has a true passion and interest in treating a wide array of psychiatric disorders including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, dual disorder, and substance use issues, and various personality disorders.‍

Kristen Soukup, LCSW is a mental health therapist at Talkiatry. Kristen completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester where she studied Psychology and Brain & Cognitive Science. She then went on to pursue her Master's degree in Social Work at the State University of New York at Buffalo. After completing her Master's degree, Kristen began working at an outpatient cancer center where she provided care coordination and therapeutic support to patients and their families enduring cancer diagnoses, treatments, and end of life. She then worked to pursue her clinical license in working with adults with significant and persistent mental illness in an outpatient setting. Kristen functioned not only as a primary therapist but also as the crisis team leader, providing supervision to other clinicians and assisting clients both in the clinic and the community. Kristen believes in looking at the whole person in their environment when working with her patients. She comes from a nonjudgmental and empathetic standpoint and genuinely wants to put the patient's goals and values first. Kristen has experience in treating patients with anxiety, depression, OCD, Bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. Kristen is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and tends to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques in treatment. Diana Veliz, LCSW, obtained her MSW from Fordham University. Diana has over 3 years of experience providing client-centered therapy. Her practice is sensitive to race and culture, and trauma-informed. Diana has experience working with adults, and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders. She has worked in outpatient/inpatient clinics and in an educational setting supporting children with social emotional learning. Diana believes that the best approach is to work collaboratively with the client while also considering that each person's experience is individual to them. The client is an expert in their lives, and as a clinician, she is there to meet the client where they are at and begin the healing journey through non-judgment and compassion. Shannon has worked in a variety of settings from mental health clinics, substance use and addictions clinics, along with providing treatment in correctional facilities. Shannon helped to establish a Medication Assisted Treatment Program for a New York State County Jail. She also has experience in treating people with issues with gambling. Shannon uses an eclectic approach in treatment to provide client-centered care. The most common therapeutic styles she uses are DBT, CBT, solution focused, narrative therapy, feminist therapy, and person-centered therapy. Her primary clinical focus has been in treating adults with more serious and persistent mental illness and issues of addiction. Shannon believes in a holistic approach to therapy and supports people in identifying the more complex factors that contribute to distressing symptoms while focusing on the resiliency human beings possess. Shannon is passionate about helping people advocate and empower themselves and provides a safe place to approach any area of concern. Taylor Jarrett, LMHC, NCC, is a psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is licensed to practice in New York, Massachusetts, and Florida, and is recognized as a National Certified Counselor.

Maria-Anne Duncan, LCSW-R holds the position of psychotherapist at Talkiatry. She has over twenty years of experience working with individuals, families, and groups addressing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma. Before joining Talkiarty, Ms. Duncan worked as a Director of Clinical Services for a not-for-profit in the Hudson Valley Region of New York State. Prior to that, Ms. Duncan worked for a local hospital in the psychiatric department providing treatment to the Inpatient and Outpatient units. She has held several positions as a clinician and program director. Additionally, Ms. Duncan has taught parenting classes, Mental Health First Aid and provides training on Trauma-Informed Care. Ms. Duncan started her career as a clinician in a Crime Victims' Assistance Program funded by New York State. Through this experience she began to explore the effects of trauma on individuals, their families, and the community. Ms. Duncan has been trained in both EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and SE (Somatic Experiencing). She utilizes these body-focused therapies to help her clients be released from years of painful energies locked in their systems. Ms. Duncan received her Bachelor's Degree from Marist College and her Master's from Fordham University. She has been trained to supervise Social Work Students in their field placements. Ms. Duncan appeared in the Vassar College student-developed training video, "He said, She said" which is used to train peer sexual assault counselors. In April of 2022, she became a trainer for LivingWorks "SafeTALK" program. Additionally, Ms. Duncan has a trained therapy dog, Monkey, who goes with her to local hospitals and nursing homes to provide comfort and affection.

Miranda Brumber is a licensed clinical mental health counselor with extensive experience working in the mental health field. Danielle LaBarre is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor (LMHC and LPC) practicing in New York, Virginia, and Georgia. With 10 years of experience, she supports adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and life transitions. Tamara has focused her work on clients struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, and mood disorder. She has also worked with teens struggling with eating disorders and issues specific to the LBGTQ population. She has a special interest in families coping with Autism and other special needs. ‍

She has over 18 years of experience in the field of mental health including Outpatient, Community Mental Health and Assertive Community Treatment. At Henry Ford Allegiance Health, Dawn played an integral role in implementing the integration between physical and mental health. Ian Provo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is also certified in Complex Trauma treatment. He has held a clinical license for 27 years, where he has worked in a number of capacities as a mental health professional, including Clinical Director, Director of Treatment, private practice, direct care services, and case management. Ian completed his Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University and his Master's Degree from the University of Illinois. Ian is passionate about his work and believes strongly in the human potential and resilience in overcoming life's obstacles and barriers. His therapeutic model focuses on multidimensional modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic model, psychoeducational approaches, and mindfulness techniques. Ian has vast experience in working with victims of sexual abuse and trauma in addition to treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD and providing couple's therapy.
